When you first enter Webkinz, under My First Adoption a penguin named Mrs. Birdy will ask you to fill out some forms. She will ask you to fill in a code to activate your pet. The code is found inside the tag on your Webkinz. When this has all happened, you will get checked on by kind Doctor Quack. You will need to see Dr. Quack if your Webkinz gets quite sick or you just need some reassurance that they are OK. You will also be shown your room and how to use it. You will receive one room, 2000 in kinzcash, your pet's special food, your pet's special item (see Special Items), and an exclusive item. Kinzcash is Webkinz money. You earn it from games in the arcade, answering questions at Quizzy's Question Corners, getting a job, or Today's Activities! You can spend it at the W Shop or the Curio Shop on anything! When you log on, you will see a yellow toolbar at the bottom of the page. It has your dock where all your items are stored, your pets picture, your pet's health, happiness, and hunger meters, your "cell phone" which allows you to use kinzchat, and the yellow help button. This will help your experience in Webkinz.

 

It is easy to get around the Webkinz World website. Almost everything you can do can be found on the Things To Do menu. Other things to do can be found in the daily newspaper. You can access the newspaper from the Things To Do menu. The lists below will tell you about each different tasks on the menu.

 

Use this feature when you are entirely done playing the game for that time. If you stop playing Webkinz for a certain amount of time, you will be logged out automatically. Before you log out, you should always put your pet to bed. If not, while you are gone, their health, happiness, and hunger meters will decrease.

 

After clicking this on the things to do list, a small chart will show up on the screen.
Hourly Events- this gives you a list of cool things that you can do for one or two hours. Watch the clock, because after the certain time is up, you cannot do it again until the next chance comes around.
Daily Events- this gives you a list of things you can do each day.
Today's Winners- this gives you a list of people who have won something recently. The Today's Activities widow is an overlay window, you can look at Today's Activities without leaving the area you are in. Often part of Today's Activities is Monkey and Monkey's Wheel of Yum.

 

After you have already set up an account, you should use the Adoption Center to adopt new Webkinz that you purchase. Doing so will add a new room to your house, add that pet's exclusive item to your dock, and also give you some extra KinzCash to take care of your new pet.

 

Use the clinic to return your pet to Dr. Quack. You can get a quick check up to find out how well you are taking care of your pet.

You can do many different things to your pet's room from decorating the walls to buying furniture and toys for your pets to play with. In this section, you will discover all the cool things you can do to your room.

In the left top corner, there are five controls.
1.Walk- this mode allows you to move your Webkinz around the room.
2.Edit- this mode allows you to reposition furniture and other items in your house.
3.Zooming In and Out- this option can allow you to come close to the screen or back away( it's pretty straight forward). The last button is "map" which allows you to see a map of all of your rooms and outdoor lawns.

The W Shop is where you purchase almost everything in the game. You can buy paint, flooring, and furniture for your pet's house. You can also purchase items for your pet to interact with, and clothes for your pet to wear. You can browse items that are on sale, as well as various room themes if you want to see all the related items in one room. The W Shop is an overlay window, you can visit the W Shop without leaving the area that you are in.

The Curio Shop is run by Arte Fact, an archaeologist Golden Retriever. He only carries a dozen items at a time, but seems to change his stock every hour. He normally has items that you can find at the W Shop, but usually at a different price. Be sure to compare because sometimes the Curio Shop is more expensive than the W Shop. On occasion Arte will have a rare item in stock, something that you cannot get at the W Shop. Arte recently started stocking items that are not rare, but special and only available at the Curio Shop. Now there is a new feature called Gem Hunt. This allows you to search one mine a day to find 30 different gems that you can collect or sell. Once you have collected all 30 gems you can trade them in for the Webkinz Crown of Wonder, Webkinz World's rarest item.

In the Employment Office you can check out the Job Board. The jobs are mini games where you can earn KinzCash based on how well you do and how often you have done the same job. Some of the jobs have prerequisites, normally you must have a certain score in a certain Quizzy's category to take the job. You can only do one job every 8 hours.

The Arcade has many games to play, and all of them will earn you KinzCash based on your score. There is always a Game of the Day, which earns more money than usual for the day, although depending on how well you do you might not earn any more than playing a game that you're good at. The Arcade is also the location of the Webkinz Wishing Well and the Wheel of WOW, which are games of chance that you can only play once a day. You can only spin The Wheel of Wow once a day (unless you get an extra spin under Today's Activities) for a chance to win free gunk, 20 kinzcash, 50 kinzcash, 100 kinzcash, 500 kinzcash, random kinzcash, a piece of furniture, or a bag of groceries which includes 10 pieces of food. They frequently update the prizes, so you can have a chance at new items. New games recently added are Where's Wacky?, Picnic 2: Ant Mania, and Lunch Letters.

The Tournament Arena has the same games as the Arcade, but in a multiplayer mode where you can play against your friends or other Webkinz users. It also includes some games of its own, or games that you can buy at the W Shop. Tournament Arena games earn you more KinzCash than normal Arcade games. Some tournament games are only Best Score games, where you don't compete directly with other players, but where the player with the highest score wins.

DiceKinz is a virtual collectible-dice board game that can be played against real opponents or the computer. The goal of the game is to beat your opponent around the board. DiceKinz is one of the few areas where you interact directly with your pet, who acts as your pawn in the game.

Quizzy's is a place to answer trivia and put your knowledge to the test! Most of Quizzy's trivia is based on curriculum subjects, with a section devoted to fun and pop-culture based trivia. This is one of the best ways to earn KinzCash on the site because you earn 5 kinzcash per question, and a happiness boost!

This is the same guide that is found in your dock, you can access it through the Things To Do menu or by having your pet interact with the copy in its room. The guide can answer many of the questions that users new to Webkinz World may have. The Webkinz Guide is an overlay window, you can view the Webkinz Guide without leaving the area you are in.

This area tells you what's new in Webkinz World. It features some fun sections like Plumpy's Place which features Plumpy, advice hippo extraordinaire. It also features the weekly contests and the W Tales. Every time a new webkinz is released, you'll be sure to see an article about it in the News. You can also do crafts in the fun stuff section, get kinzcash tips, and lots of cool tips and latest items in the What's New section! Under High Scores, you can see the high scores for each game in the arcade in comparison to yours! Under Contact Us and Postcards you can answer a survey each week that will give you 50 free kinzcash and a happiness boost. You can also send in questions and suggestions. They actually read each one and answer your questions. You can also send an animated postcard to a friend for free, inviting them to Webkinz World. Under Meet The Webkinz you can see all the different pets and their special item.

If you have more then one pet then you can use this section to switch pets, read their bio, print their adoption certificate, and a get to daily kinz care. If you click on My Pets, then click on Daily Kinzcare, click on I Love My Webkinz. You will get some Kinzcash and free food, some of which can't be purchased in the W Shop.

Special Items

Whenever you adopt a Webkinz, you will get a special item that you can only get by adopting that pet. For example, if you adopt a Pug Webkinz, you will get a chair just for the pug. You cannot buy any of these items in the W Shop or in the Curio Shop for a low price. These items can sell for a lot of money in the W Shop (approximately over 1,000 KinzCash).
